Freedom Ocean - Task
Designed by Niels Diffrient, the Freedom Chair redefined ergonomic seating with its weight-sensitive recline and synchronously adjustable armrests that adapt naturally to each user. He replaced the locks, knobs, and springs of older-generation chairs with body weight and the laws of physics, allowing sitters to move effortlessly from one position to another. This makes the chair feel as if it were custom-made for whoever happens to be sitting in it. Its dynamic headrest moves with the user to support the head and neck in every posture, delivering seamless comfort without manual adjustments.
